Lyndsey Medford

Author of My Body and Other Crumbling Empires

From Lyndsey:

“I write about spirituality and social justice for tired people. In justice and activism spaces, I often hear non-disabled people asking each other questions like,
"Why do we keep living in cycles of burnout and how do we get out of them?"
"How do we find ways to keep going when the things we're trying to uproot will never be fully dismantled in our lifetime--or even might get worse?"
"How can we get where we want to go when resources are so scarce?"

A lot of my work is about pointing out that chronically ill people already have really practical answers to these questions because of the constraints we live with all the time. But those answers don't always look like what non-disabled people and colonial-capitalist cultures expect. And what if that's a beautiful, wonderful thing?”
